Hairstyling & Barbering
General information
Avant-Garde College offers various beauty training programs that meet industry standards and changing trends. Hairstyling, Esthetician-Skincare & Nail Technician and Esthetician-Nail Technician programs each consist of theory and practical application instruction. Students will be issued a Diploma upon successful completion of all course requirements.
Admission requirements:
Applicants should have a High School Diploma. or GED. We also accept mature student (19+).
Financial assistance:
Avant-Garde is designated for student loan funding. Visit the Government of Saskatchewan website for more information about the Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loan program. Please note student loans will not cover cost of student kits.
Class times:
Courses are full-time, 7.5 hours per day.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm
Thursday 12:30pm – 8:00pm
The Avant-Garde Hairstyling & Barbering program is offered full-time 40 weeks or part-time 67 weeks. Students must achieve a minimum grade of 70% to pass the theoretical and practical portions of this program. A Diploma will be issued upon successful completion of all course requirements.
Course duration:
1500 hours
Mature students:
In place of a High School diploma, mature students (19+ years old) may be considered.
Fees
Registration Fee (payable at time of registration): $200.00
*Registration fee is not a portion of the tuition amount and is non-refundable*
Hairstylist start dates:
February, April, June, August, September, October and December. Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify.
