Advanced Esthetics & Nail technology


General information
Avant-Garde College offers training program that meet industry standards and changing trends. Advanced Esthetics & Nail Technician programs each consist of theory and practical application instruction. Students will be issued a diploma upon successful completion of all course requirements. Our Program is also recognized and partnered with Mac Cosmetics! All students enrolled in our Advanced esthetics program are eligible for MAC PRO student membership. In addition to that our students have a Pro discount in our very own Wholesale store front location in the school!

Admission requirements: 
For all programs, prospective students should have a High School Diploma. 

Financial assistance:
Avant-Garde is designated for student loan funding. Visit the Government of Saskatchewan website for more information about the Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loan program.

Class times:
Courses are full-time, 7.5 hours per day.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday 12:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The Avant-Garde Advanced Esthetics and Nail Tech program is a full-time 35 week course. Students must achieve a minimum grade of 70% to pass the theoretical and practical portions of this program. A diploma will be issued upon successful completion of all course requirements.

Course duration: 
1400 hours/ 38weeks/ 7.5 hours per day

Hours of attendance: 
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday 12:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Mature students: 
In place of a High School Diploma, mature students (19+ years old) may complete a GED. 

In order to access our online learning system, students are required to provide a device that supports our videos and E-books. This device may be a laptop or tablet. 

Registration Fee (payable at time of registration): $200
Tuition: $9,000
Books, supplies, & kit fee: $3,900.
Total cost (tax incl.): $13,100.
*Registration fee is not a portion of the tuition amount and is non-refundable.

Program start dates:
January, March, May, July, September and November. Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify.

The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission has made Esthetics a trade, therefore manicures and pedicures were added to the Artificial Nail Technician course. Students attending the Artificial Nail Technician course are asked not to attend wearing artificial nails as students will begin working on themselves.

*Microdermabrassion classes available. Esthetics Diploma required.
