Esthetician-Nail Technician

General information

Avant-Garde College offers various beauty training programs that meet industry standards and changing trends. Hairstyling, Barbering, Esthetician-Skin Care Technician, and Esthetician-Nail Technician programs each consist of theory and practical application instruction. Students will be issued a diploma upon successful completion of all course requirements.

Admission requirements: 

Applicants should have a High School Diploma. or GED. We also accept mature student (19+).

Financial assistance:
Avant-Garde is designated for student loan funding. Visit the Government of Saskatchewan website for more information about the Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loan program. Please note student loans will not cover cost of student kits.

Class times:
Courses full-time, 7.5 hours per day.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm & Thursday 12:30pm - 8:00pm

Our Esthetician-Nail Technician program consists of 12 weeks of instruction in theory and practical applications. Students must achieve a minimum grade of 70% to pass the theoretical and practical portions of this program. A diploma will be issued upon successful completion of all course requirements.

Course duration: 
450 Hours

Mature students:

In place of a High School Diploma, mature students (19+ years old) may be considered.

Registration Fee : $200.00 (payable at time of registration)

Course start dates
Classes begin in JanuaryMarch, MayJulySeptember, and November. Financial Assistance may be available for those who qualify.

The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship & Trade Certification Commission has made Esthetics a trade, therefore manicures & pedicures were added to the Nail Technician course. Students attending the Nail Technician course are asked not to attend wearing artificial nails as students will begin working on themselves.
